So, I know I'm a little late to the whole blogging party, but better late than never right?
Anyways, here are my goals: Work out for 30 minutes five times a week, drink more water, finish the Book of Mormon and write down something I'm thankful for every day:)

And so begins week 2.  Sounds like everyone is doing great.  I don't know if my family shared their goals or not so here goes.

Terry is working out everyday that he can.  He has been doing this for months now, and like Brett, needs no push to keep him going.  The only time he takes off is on Sunday, or if his knee is hurts.

Lettie is working out 5 days a week for 30 min,  reading scriptures 5 days, and organizing 3 things in the house each week. (this is not in place of regular cleaning, just in addition to.)

Coleman is working on getting in shape to start lacrosse.  His focus right now is weight lifting.  His goal is 5 days a week.  He also got a magic bullet for Christmas and makes very healthy smoothies several days each week for breakfast.

Megan is exercising 4 days a week.  She does dance for two hours on Tues and Thurs. and plays basketball Fri and Sat.  Her toughest goal is reading.  She is going for 5 days a week.  She's doing great so far.

Thomas is everyone's toughest competition.  Exercise 5 days a week,  read scriptures 5 days a week, and eat healthier.  His focus is on eating less sugar.  He is determined that he is going to the party.

Max is exercising 5 days a week,  wearing his glasses everyday at school, and not digging at scabs.  So far he is doing awesome.  He is also working on reading.

As a family we have decided to try to sing all the songs in sacrament mtg.  Mom and Tom are generally the singers but we are getting everybody involved.  Coleman says he can't sing because his voice cracks so for now he may just be reading along.  I told him that Heavenly Father doesn't care what you sound like so just sing away, but I think it might take a little convincing.

We are looking forward to the party!  Hope to see everybody there.

Cook Family

In the craziness of my life and setting up the blog and teaching family how to blog I just realized my family has not posted their goals or updates so here they are:
Family Goals: Have daily scripture study and Family prayer every night
Make it to church on time every Sunday! (remember I have 3 girls and church is at 9am) ahhhh

Brett: Going to the gym at least 3 times per week
Eat healthy to continue loosing weight

April: Cook dinner at least 5 nights a week so we avoid eating out.
Treadmill for 30 minutes 4 times per week
Loose at least 35 lbs. by middle of February

Mickelle: Read her own scriptures every day
               Practice Piano without being asked
Do chores everyday without being asked
Run on treadmill 10 minutes 4 times per week

Brooklyn: Feed Oreo every morning

Addison: Continue being cute and making moms life exciting every second of every day (Literally!!)

So as far as the first week and a half has gone we are all doing really well! Mick is hysterical if its the end of the night and she realizes she doesn't have something done, which is great on mom I am no longer having to ask the girls to get jobs done! Yah
Brooklyn has only had to be reminded 1 times which is awesome.
I have finally found a diet that works for me and that I'm willing to stick to! I know to many people like my amazing mother that can diet and have self control like a crazy person this doesn't sound like much but for me (who hasn't ever stuck to a diet more then 1st day at lunch time) no joke this is huge. I've already finished by second batch of 3 days lost 9lbs. AND HAVEN'T CHEATED EVEN ONCE
Brett is like my mom and can stick to anything once he puts his mind to it so we are all proud he is still doing well.

Hope everyone is doing well and can't wait for the party on February 2nd!
Love you all

Just an FYI for my "Andy Griffith" loving family.  One episode on DVD (from opening credits to end) is 25 min.  Perfect for a session on the treadmill or eliptical!  Only a 5 min. cool down needed at the end.    Lettie

It's the beginning of our first full week.  Last week being short because of the holiday still counts, but doesn't count for the party.  I am showing a little mercy because some of us didn't get the program as soon as others did.  And for others it may have taken a day or two to really come up with good goals.  But now it starts.  This week is "game on".    FYI my family rocked last week.  All goals reached!   How's everybody else doing?

FAMILY PLEASE BE PATIENT AS I FIGURE OUT WHY BLOG SPOT WON'T LET ME CHANGE OUR FONT COLORS AND LINKS. I KNOW THE BLUE AND PURPLE ARE HARD TO READ AND LOOK SILLY BUT HOPEFULLY SOON EVERYTHING WILL MATCH!

Welcome to our challenge!

I'm proud of my family for accepting the challenge to get healthier this year.  Just so everyone is on the same page with this, make sure that you have set some good goals for exercise and healthy eating, as well as any other things you may want to work on.  Keep track of your weekly progress.  If you meet your weekly goals for a whole month, you are invited to a "you've reached your goals" party.  Our first party is scheduled for the evening of Feb. 2.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone there.  Craig thinks he may be attending this party by himself...okay, well, that sounds like a challenge to me, right? Let's see who's up for it.     Lettie
